Android Marshmallow roll out for Redmi Note 3, now with MIUI 8.1.1.0

Though late to the party, Xiaomi has finally started rolling out Android Marshmallow update to Redmi Note 3. Previously, the device did get an upgrade from MIUI 7 to MIUI 8 but the company failed to roll out it with a new Android version. However, now with MIUI 8.1.1.0, Xiaomi has finally rolled out the update. The OTA comes with the name MIUI 8.1.1.0.MHOMIDI OTA which is a nightly build and weighs at 1.3GB.

Even though it's a Nightly Build, Xiaomi claims it to be a Beta-Stable release and is only available for some select users for testing. Post that, we expect the Chinese handset manufacturer to roll out the final build for all the users. As for the changelog, the update brings in some new features included in Android Marshmallow including Doze, apart from additional bug fixes and improvements.
Well, it is sad to see Xiaomi taking so long to update its devices, especially when Redmi Not 3 being its best-selling device in India.

Nevertheless, Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) IPS LCD display. Underneath the hood, the device is powered by a 1.4 GHz Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 with Adreno 510 GPU. It has two models - one with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage and another has 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
