Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 tipped to be an octa-core SoC with Adreno 515 and LTE Cat 9

The Snapdragon 653 will allegedly support up to 24MP cameras, dual ISP, and eMMC 5.1 storage.

As per the report, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 will have the model number MSM8976 Pro, which suggests that it is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 652, which is MSM8976. However, it will be manufactured using the same 28nm process as the Snapdragon 652. It will offer four Cortex-A73 cores at 2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.4GHz. The processor will be supported by an Adreno 515 GPU clocked at 550MHz.

Other specs of the Snapdragon 653 will include LPDDR4 RAM, eMMC 5.1 storage, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi ac/a/g/b/n, Bluetooth 4.1, and LTE Cat 9 connectivity options. It will support up to 24-megapixel cameras, and will also offer a dual Image Signal Processor. There’s no way to verify these specs. Since the Snapdragon 652 was unveiled in December 2015, we expect the Snapdragon 653 will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
